As I embark on my journey as an educator of social studies, business, and mathematics, I bring a diverse skill set honed over 35 years in business leadership and mid-level senior executive roles. While teaching algebra 2 and geometry for a semester, I have developed a deep understanding of these subjects and a passion for teaching that drives me to excel in the classroom.

Graduating in May 2025 with a Masters in Secondary Education and receiving a teaching certificate in December 2024, I am equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a high-quality education to my students. I believe that a great teacher possesses qualities such as patience, understanding, excellent communication skills, and strong classroom management skills.

I am committed to lifelong learning and adaptability, constantly evaluating and improving my teaching methods to meet the needs of my students. Empathy, patience, and engagement are also key components of my teaching philosophy, as I strive to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

With my background in business leadership and my passion for teaching, I am confident that I can make a positive impact in the lives of my students and contribute to the field of education. I look forward to using my skills and experiences to inspire and empower the next generation of learners.

January 2024 - Present

As a secondary education math teacher my roles and responsbilities include planning and delivering math lessons, assessing student understanding, managing the classroom environment, developing curriculum, engaging in professional development, collaborating with colleagues, communicating with parents, analyzing student data, and fulfilling professional responsibilities such as maintaining records and adhering to ethical standards.

Building Substitute Teacher, PHS

September 2023 - January 2024

As a building substitute teacher, my responsiblities included providing instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This includes following lesson plans, managing student behavior, and ensuring a safe and productive classroom environment. Building substitutes may also be expected to collaborate with other teachers and staff, communicate with parents or guardians, and participate in school activities and events as needed.

Director of Studios, Restore Hyper Wellness

May 2022 - June 2023

Responsible for the twenty corporate studios across nine states, the P&L management, HR, studio operations, marketing, team development, medical compliance and client experience. Developed sales strategies, performance goals and operational infrastructure, worked closely with senior management and cross-functionally with all aspects of the organization, maintaining detailed records for analysis, and evaluating sales performance.

Throughout my studies, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA.

Completion of my Master's degree in Business with a focus on Management and Leadership. The program covered a range of topics including Business Technology, Human Resource Management, Diversity and Inclusivity, Strategic Management, Business Law, and People Development. My educational experience included studying technology's role in business, strategies for managing diverse teams, legal considerations in business operations, and methods for developing and leading effective teams.

I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a focus on Business Management. It emphasized managing human and fiscal resources within different organizations.

I also completed a second Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. The program integrated topics such as global marketing, product pricing, and buyer behavior, and provided opportunities to develop oral and written communication skills and research abilities.

My ability to adapt to new technologies ensures that I can stay current with educational trends and provide students with a modern and relevant education.

My coaching experience in soccer, baseball, football, and girls' softball has equipped me with valuable skills that are directly applicable to an educational setting. As a coach, I have developed strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, which are essential for fostering a positive learning environment and promoting student success. My ability to problem-solve, manage time effectively, and instill values of sportsmanship and respect aligns well with the responsibilities of an educator. I believe that my coaching background will not only benefit me in the classroom but also contribute positively to the school sports community by promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and personal growth.

Learning Spanish as an educator can be beneficial for several reasons, including improved communication with Spanish-speaking students and families, better cultural understanding, enhanced professional growth and marketability, a broader global perspective, and personal enrichment. I am completing Spanish lessons to become a more effective and culturally responsive educator, to open up new opportunities for personal and professional growth, and to better connect with and support Spanish-speaking students and families in my school community.
